Abstract poetry, Frustration of the downtrodden - unhappiness without hope - dispair.
Forlorn
By
Richard Vance

Rag Tag bunch of knot-heads,
Brushing silt from dirty window panes;
Trying hard without any luck
To change their pitiful lives;
Peering through to the other side,
Seeing tiny slivers of the dream,
And maybe…
A momentary flash of brilliance?
Of hope?
But the mirror only reflects who they are;
Reality sets in on this side -
Not the promise of another way of life,
Not a stinking break!
Seen, but not heard is
The wondrous view meant for others,
Not for them!
Never for them!
No way to make the change…
No way to make the leap…
Stuck here once again,
Forlorn!
