Where the Horses Are (AUGUST 2008)

WHERE THE HORSES ARE
August 7, 2008

You must ford a creek,
jump some rocks,
dodge low branches,
swat a fly, then stealthily
poison ivy defy,
walk not fast, but free, and far
to get to where
the horses are.

You must plod through mud,
cross dirt streets,
pass deep bogs,
swing from a rope, never
giving up hope,
then climb with moon and soar with star
to get to where
the horses are.
