Some of us are lost in hope as much as fear. From Bottle in the River
Stay Now

He spent the sunny summer
wishing against the fall,
dreading the coming call
of brittle leaves.

He spent the brutal winter
waiting for spring to come,
wishing to feel the sun
and hear the leaves.

He died in a snow storm.
