Thoughts on the relationship between time and death.
The Pendulum swings back and forth,
past to present, present to future.
Never stopping, never tiring
all the while it sways so steadily
and so gently like tiny feathers in the wind.
Never resting, never moaning
always swinging slicing time and
cheating death.
Back and forth, to and fro
where it stops nobody knows.
The lone sphere of gold
rocks back and forth in a chasm of shadows,
no one to comfort it, no one to curse it,
no one to love it.
Alone it stands in the dark abyss,
It's only duty, to measure the distance
till death's final kiss.
