A poem that deals with the difficult issues the internet can present.
Computer screen veiling his face.
Anonymity shields disgrace.
Searching for innocent, young prey,
at home any hour of day.

It’s just the internet, no harm done.
It’s not like I’m hurting anyone.
Only a child’s image on a screen,
Gone with a click, you know what I mean.”

Silent lies, he searches with desire,
seeking the one that will ignite the fire.
Perusing chat rooms, blogs, and websites,
invading innocent youth and their rights.

“It’s curiosity, it’s not like I touch.
Trust me, I can stop if it becomes too much.
I’m not some sick pervert out wallking the street.
I just like to look at them; I'd never meet.”

Pulse races as he finds his special child,
appearing so pure and yet inside wild.
His body reacts, beginning to stir.
An angel made just for him, he is sure.

“Oh to touch her face, just even once.
I’ve searched for you, baby, all these months.
I see in your eyes you want me, too.
Age doesn’t matter with me and you.”

Internet misused as the peddler of pics.
Innocence stolen by ones who are sick.
Sharing our children with a click of a mouse,
raping, abusing in the shelter of house.

I'm not a picture or video clip,
I'm alive. . . breathing, my heart with a rip.
A tainted world consumes my young mind.
Open your eyes, quit choosing to be blind.

I know this is wrong, now show me what's right.
Give me a home where I sleep through the night.
My quavering voice tired, timid, and weak.
You know this is wrong; for me won't you speak?
