"Here's a good one, fine and fresh,"
Said the wax-eyed man who served me
True, I'd found, and easy flesh
Swallows like a linginberry.

"That one's poison, that one's bad!"
Said a brazen man beside him
"Take the other, you'll be glad
Take the fine one, stay a pilgrim."

This one tasted crude enough
Tearing down my tender throat and
Brushing me with sequins rough
Give me room and I'll expand.

Several more I took, to say
Pain became reality but-
I could see the light of day!
Never keep your windows shut.
