Build for thy love
a recliner of steel
and hold her for all of thy days
Build for thy love
a mansion of gold
and observe all the ways
that she tries to escape

Build for thine heart
a key and a lock
and hide the key safely away
Build for thy soul
a skyward stairwell
and follow without falling prey

And when thou hast suffered
and breath comes in shuddering
gasps on the rocks by the sea
build for thy love
a bridge of the rocks
and pray that she cometh to thee
