sonnets with Bob
"Into a Measured Gait [E] by destinydances

Anticipation captivates my heart,
Its tender breeze becomes a hardened wind.
The roar of innocence is blown apart
To fragments hushed that will not sound again.

The charms of youth disperse into the crowd
And vanish amid strangers' glassy stares.
The lights are dim, the hum is getting loud,
As youthful tunes transform to fervent prayers.

The skipping slows into a measured gait -
From promising green pastures growing wild
To grey cement that's cracked from weary weight
That, thoughtless, made the trek unreconciled.

We see when autumn leaves give way to frost
That ev'ry journey's taken at a cost.

"Invalid Item by Candlemaker

Yes every journey’s taken at a cost
And some will cost the less and some the more
But hopefully the passion isn’t lost
In sojourners on earth from distant shore

The charms of youth will disappear indeed
And skipping always slows to measured beat
But not until the journey’s focused need
Is duly met with young and dancing feet

The balance of the universe is true
And though the trek remains un-reconciled
My journey through the ages leads to you
And I am just a celebrating child

And should the marrow of my life be lost
I’d cherish you and never count the cost
