This is about one of my horses that died this year - she was only 6 years old
Powerful you were but did not know

Too young to understand

Never pushed your way around

Just followed – led by hand

Big and beautiful you really were

Courageous, a credit to your breed

Even in death your dignity

Would drop hard men to their knees

Patience in your stillness

Fire in your soul

I couldn’t leave you suffering

Just prayed and let you go

I saw the confusion in your eyes

Why wouldn’t I heal your pain

Believe me big beautiful girl

I’m so thankful you’ll never feel it again

You trusted me to mind you

Gave to me your life

But see how I dropped the ball

And then you lost the fight

I witnessed your death that night

Your suffering and strife

I never will forget that night

All my entire life
