Clowns are very serious

                  Mostly clowns are very serious.
Pik was a willfully incredulous imp.
She had eaten half of a blue berry pie
that had been left on a window to cool.

Her tiny body was covered in blue berries
and pie crumbs. Her four wings were too
sticky to fly. And her belly had ballooned.
She sat on the pie tray licking her fingers.

"Gohd! What happened to my pie?" Ashley
exclaimed. Ashley had been baking pies with
her mother. She was quite proud of this one.
She looked closer and spoted Pik.

                  "Your pie is quite tasty!
And has made me quite foolish!"
Pik giggled as she struggled to stand.
She was a clown faery: an imp.

"My ma will dice you to pieces!
You've ruined my pie!" Ashley was upset.
She had planned to offer a piece of her pie
                    to farmer Brown's son.

"Burrrrp! If you put your pie outside
like dandelions someone will pluck it!"
Pik tried to fly, but her wings were too sticky.
The imp smiled and offered Ashly a blue berry.

"Your too bloated on my pie to fly!" Ashley picked
up a rolling pin. Pik desperately tried to climb out
of the pie tray. But her belly got in the way.
"There will be more pies! But, there is only one of me!"

Well, it was Sunday and the Preacher had preached
about forgiveness. Ashley put down her mother's rolling
pin. She gentlely bathed Pik under the kitchen faucet:
cupping Pik in her left hand.

"Gurgle! Spit! Burrrrrp!" Pik shook her wings like a
dragon fly, then rung out her long red hair.
"Your kindness meant somethin!" Pik laughed.
And three more pies appeared on the window sill.

In a wink of a blink Pik flew out the window.
Ashley's jaw dropped openned. Her mother would
be so proud. And now she had three flavours of pies
                    to offer farmer Brown's son.

                    :)
