The Stupidity of It All

What world do we live in where you need a resume to work at a porn store but not to work for the federal government or the state...?
Mentoring organizations will allow you to teach a child even though you might have some criminal record. The government will hire you; you can even be a volunteer firefighter. But SEARS will not even give you a second look. You can risk your life to save people but you can't change their oil or help them out with their groceries because apparently to them you are some kind of threat to society.
