Sometimes after heated arguments something wonderful and unexpected happens.
Here I stand...one foot out the door
I am aware of the brilliant orange and red that fill the sky
Dusk has fallen and all I can think about is my despair

I suffer when you expect so much of me
Always wanting a ride and always wanting money
I dont know how much more I can take

I walk to the steps in front of your apartment
I sit down and reflect on the heated argument that we just had
I am exasperated and at the end of my rope

Your apartment door opens and I look at you with tearful eyes
You walk up to me as though you are walking on egg shells
You sit next to me and take my hand

I see guilt and pain in your eyes
"Will you marry me?", You ask me with resiliance
Silence and I am dumbfounded.
