This poem was written here in Louisville, KY while at Wayside Mission for orphaned women.
Fine Feathered Friends

Feathers of grey, blue, pink, and snow

Marching down the court in their stately waddling ways

Two birds walked for peace to put on a show

And were the wild kingdom's friends in protest.

News of war was their preempt

The birds glided over that

area also as part of their past

The show seemed planned and was not disheveled or unkempt

The the couple that were part of the march met a third

friend as he descended and landed on common ground.

The three friends group took to the air

As the women who

were part of the ground audience watched

The three friends show to the audience was rare

And a sign that peace still exists despite the ongoing war

and hate.
