Learning to Drown
You’re standing on my skyline,
You’re all that I can see,
All that I can breathe,

You’ve got the devil whispering in your ear,
With an angel, nowhere near,

So I guess this is me learning to drown,
I always was too naïve to swim,
Tongue tied and screaming,
I’m here at the edge bleeding,
Blue-lipped and dressed for drowning,
Dressed up for heartbreak, dressed up for the dead,

You’re staring cold into my soul,
That’s the only warmth I’ll ever feel,
All I’ll ever get from you,

Now you are stood on the other side of this bridge,
It’s covered in butane and you’ve got the fire in your hands,
So go on burn it down, go on burn it to the ground,

So I guess this is me learning to drown,
I always was too naïve to swim,
Tongue tied and screaming,
I’m here at the edge bleeding,
Blue-lipped and dressed for drowning,
Dressed up for heartbreak, dressed up for the dead,

But now I’m coming back for you,
Keep running darling, every turn you make,
I’ll be right there waiting,
Bitter reminders never filled you with so much fear,
Darling you’ll never be safe till you’re blood is on my hands,
Now it's your turn, you better hurry up because I won't wait,
Go on and learn to drown but oh no you're too late.
