A special poem for a special freind
SUNSET BEACH

The sun began to set
As I pulled up to the beach
Alone he sat in silhouette
Watching as the sky turned to peach

He turned to briefly face me
Then turned back towards the sea
Lifting his arms high and wide
He cast a stone or three

They flew across the water
And danced high in the air
Once more he glanced in my direction
And realized I was there

His smile was warm and welcoming
His arms were outstretched wide
He invited me to climb the steps
In a beach hut we did hide

We sat and talked for hours
About this and that and more
I began to feel something inside
Something I’d never felt before

The love I felt flow freely
And I gazed into his eyes
But even though he returned my love
Forever we'd  live separate lives

The sun had set over the sea
We were running out of time
With his arms around me once more
For moments, he was mine

Regretfully we parted, made our way home
We would see each other every day
But that memory is my own
