About breast cancer
Marble under my skin
No part of me
Yet growing within

Too young, they said
Let it be nothing, I plead

The pink ribbon me?
Now my identity?

Why me, how come, why now, what will happen to me?

Some compassion, some kindness
Some indiscretion, some blindness

Worry, uncertainty, fright
I just want to sleep at night!

Marble under my skin
Knife, poison, rays
Will do you in!
