Perils by sea and by land.
For any who care to study physics. Space travel presents a
dilemma. How to travel great distances between star systems.
Matter dissolves at the speed of light. Nuclear fusion drive is too
slow. It would take generations to reach another habitable planet with a
rocket ship. Why is this important? Well, at the present rate of
consumption of natural resources and toxic pollution this Earth will
be barren in one thousand years. The international political situation
is teetering on a nuclear holocaust. The consensus amongst cultural
historians is that Muslim extremist will trigger a new age of nuclear
  terrorism. How can humanity survive?

Noah was right. What is needed is an Ark. What can be launched
accross the great void is DNA. An automated space ship could carry
the DNA of every living thing on Earth. Upon reaching a sutable suragate
planet the DNA would be germinated. A clone of Earth creatures would
make an evolutionary leap in a new world. Hopefully, the native life will
be compatible. This is a necessary risk. A hybred human race would be
reeducated with the ships libraries. Perhaps, a reward system could be
  programed.

Alternative 2 is Abraham's hammer: "Utterly destroy him out of all the
tribes of Isreal, according to the curses that are contained in the book
of the law and convenant: spare not the very young or the very old for
they are an abomination before the Lord."(Dt.21;Ez.9:4-6) There are clean
safe means at hand to exterminate populations on a global scale. The
NAZI's used Henry Ford's asemebly line and awarded him the Iron Cross.
This era of genocidal technology would surpass Ford's asembly line and
recycle the bodies into compost. With only the Western countries intact
a new golden age of prosperty would blossom on the bones of Third World
  castaways.+

Of course if nothing is done. Terrorism will become more violent and countries
with weapons of mass destruction will go to war. The fragile ecology and
atmosphere will break down. Deadly radiation will pierce through the ozone.
The oceans will boil and every living thing will die. Pick up a copy of
The Fate of the Earth by Jonathan Schell. It's very meticulous and sad.
Well, on that cheery note, I think I'll watch Godzilla S.O.S.
