My approach to writing poetry.
WHY I WRITE?

Why do I write poetry?
Is it merely wizardry?
Do my poems amount to
Mmore than words in symmetry?

I don’t write to earn a name
Or, for conjuring up fame.
I write to express myself;
That is the name of the game.

Some of my readers so say,
My words awkwardness betray.
I don’t showcase what I write;
My thoughts I simply portray.

While writing, I play with words.
My thoughts are focused inwards.
I never plan what I write.
My poems are like free birds.

While my thoughts are free, I try
That with the rules I comply.
As long as it has rhythm,
Free verse I do not decry.

• Written as per aaba rhythm and 7-7-7-7 syllabic scheme.
