The dear dark night.
Darkness of the night,
Oh you are the dearest.

Of lightning bugs and shooting stars
You tell the greatest stories;
Of thunderstorms and sunset rains
You hold the power in noises.

In innocence and clarity
You are the greatest thief;
Yet darkness you hold beauty
Capturing moments such as these.

Memoirs of kisses, quivering lips,
The cold brought us touching;
Darkness brought upon new light
And morning soon forgotten.

Clenching hands, fallen asleep,
Darkness, you hold eternity.
Of whispered promises, hearts entwined,
Darkness grants new light.
