A poem about after the wedding is over.
After “I Do”

The wedding is over, the future has begun.
Do you love me, do I love you?
Can we live day by day
For each other and
Love each other for life?

What happens when the worst is longer than the better,
When poorer comes before the richer?
When the sickness comes,
Will we stand?

I found the one my soul loves,
The one who gives me chills down to my toes.
Sweet words spoken when love was new
Will you still love, desire and cherish
For years and years or will all my
Smile turn to tears?

Now here we are,
The vows spoken,
The kiss, the dance
Friends gathered around.
Well wishes, prayers and smiles.

So many expectation,
Hopes, dreams and plans.
A family, a career, a home
Is this really real?
What happens when tomorrow comes?

The years come and go,
Our family grows.
Everyday life comes
And changes our dreams.
You grow, I grow,
But do we still grow together?

When you say that you love me,
What do you really mean?
Do you love my smile, my eyes
The way I walk, the way I talk,
Or do you love the woman in me?
