Revelation of betrayal. Thanks for reviews that helped revisions!
THE CALL

She calls.

‘There’s something
you should know,’
she says, a quiver in her voice.
In that wicked moment
my whole world's
forever changed .

‘'He can't tell you,
but he's got to face the truth,’
she says.
How strange that now
she feels the need to make him do what’s right,
although she knows
full well
that all they’ve done together
since they met
is wrong.

How strange
she speaks of my belov'd
as if he were her own,
as if
she’s the one who’s loved him
a decade's cherished years.

His key turns in the lock.
'I know,'
is all I say to him,
as everything
fades
to
black.
