Sappy love stuff
Secret touch to never be shared, the aftermath quiet,
your hand rests on my thigh, our bodies pressed close together.
I pass my hand through my hair, touseled by your ardor.
Your lips touch my shoulder, I close my eyes on silent tears.

I think of another who kept my heart chained by jealousy.
To have a feeling such as this would have been too much to ask,
and most times been denied, always a closed demeanor.
You give so freely what I have so long craved and longed for.

But you are not my love, you cannot be.
I find that now I do not love. I will in time, but it is too soon,
and I know too that you would not be my choice if I could.
So stolen moments with you I share, I do not tell you I love you.

I know you think you do love me, and with your touch you show it.
My heart aches for nothing now, my body needs it more.
So now I take the caresses you give, and return them as I may...
Physical love to fill in for emotions long aslumber.

The tears still fall for one who is my past, my love long wasted.
They fall the more for you tonight, a love I'll never keep,
But in your arms I turn to you and give you all I may.
For now it is enough, and smiling, into separate dreams we slip.
