Pieces of You
Look at the slitted eyes, the split tongue

look at the glossy eyes, the tongue laid still

Notice the pointy ears, the bushy tail

notice the drooped ears, the tail dripping red

the clawed fingers

the missing claws on stubbed fingers

hear the growl, the chirp, the sqeak

can't you hear the yelp, the anguish, the cry for help

see the reflection of eyes in the night

see the blackness left at night

what do you see?

                                                              can't you see?

pieces, pieces of what you've been

pieces of you  red, blood red

pieces that remain in you

in those long twisting strands

                                              you are killing yourselves
