Based on a personal experience. It hits close to my heart.
Pathetic and weeping
on the floor of her cell.
Reliving the blood splattering,
her life was suddenly hell.

parents whom formerly adored her,
abadonded her in a cell thousands of miles away.
her lover was beaten and broken,
and for her sins, he did pay.

the forbidding cement left marks in her skin,
as she clawed at the bars wich enclosed.
Mournfoul screams echoed as she publicized her regrets,
quite frankly aware this was all self imposed.

The grime infested greyhound station
and the drugs in their veins,
She shivered as he held her,
they began to go insane.

Authority hot on the trail,
selling meth from a dirty hotel.
The days blurred into one,
and right from wrong they couldn't tell.

She called her mom from a bus stop,
somewhere thousands of miles away.
The tears were pouring,
and promises were made.

The promises were broken,
when her mother made that fateful call.
Not an hour later,
she watched her boyfriend fall.

The cement became splattered with blood
and her screams were those of agnoy.
His eyes began to swell shut.
so brightly shined the irony.

Handcuffs dug into her flesh
as she watched them carry him away.
She sobbed and shook and fought and kicked
and would never forget that day.

Unloved and abandoned.
She thought she had no hope.
And the beauty lie in the simple fact,
It was all self imposed.
