I just wanted to lay with you
Near a mountain stream we rested.
Overhead birds sailed and dipped.
Three times we coupled in bliss.
Heedless of the world we had escaped,
In the crook of my arm your head lay,
Nestled, sharing plans of forever.
Green eyes sparkled with animation.
So much like heaven, this idle time.
Overwhelmed with passion, we kissed again,
Emotions and heat. Warmth. Always warmth.
Love and forever seem so real here,
Out and away from hustle and bustle,
Quiet except for our matching heartbeat,
Under an evening sun, growing brighter,
Even brighter, something is wrong again,
Nearly blinding, and a blare of horns,
The headlights of an oncoming car wake me.
