A vision of how one man can move the masses
The Man & The Crowd

The tale of a man out to cause harm,
He had no might,
Using only charm,
He planned to bring the world woeful plight.
He would start with the very bad,
Then work on the others,
Driving men mad,
And turning on their brothers.

The man stands with a cigarette taking a puff,
Looking round the crowded room,
With his pint glass held aloof,
His baritone voice begins to boom.
He speaks of “New World Order",
For him and his kin,"
He will push the border,
For debauchery and sin.

Staring eyes watch on amused,
Teeth showing in a greedy smile,
Their minds all twisted and abused,
They fall completely for the mans beguile.
They murmur, chitter and chat,
Appraising their wise new king,
Totally ready for combat,
In his name a chorus they sing.

“Let us throw the world into a void of black,
Let us push morality until it breaks,
Let us torture the world to never go back,
Let us replace the brave lions with the sly snakes.”
He responded with a final phrase,
“Bring more violence, beer and whores.”
To this they gave another praise,
And they went on out of the doors.

He had them hooked,
He had them cheering,
But his reasons were overlooked,
What in the old world could he be fearing?
They thought he was the devils own wonder,
That he was to bring violent days,
Yet his mind was asunder,
Only wanting the world ablaze

They marched on under the night sky,
Unaware they were all sent to die.
