a Friday afternoon in a city
Friday afternoon.

A break between the Simon Dubnow Institute and the Max Planck Institute.

At Bagel Brothers.

A Lucky Bagel and a Coke.

On my left - a screen,"An unknown donator has been spreading money among the beggars of New York."

I-Pod in my ears - Charlotte Gainsbourg.

In front of me - a stool.

On it - an attractive young woman in stretch-jeans and a grey pull-over.

On her feet - red Chucks.

A saying is written on them with a black marker,"Too cool fo school."

"The youngsters of today's Germany", I think.

From the right side of the cafe comes another 16-year-old and hugs the one on the stool.

They laugh.

They sit down right net to me at the next table.

Charlotte Gainsbourg keeps singing in my ears.

Lucky Bagel is eaten, Coke-glass is empty.

Suddenly Charlotte stops singing and I hear a peeping girl's voice.

They chatter in pure French.

"Nice," I thought.
