My son's first ball game
Cam wore his brand new ball glove as we showed up for his first t-ball game. After a week of practice the team was ready. Each player got a turn to hit the ball off the tee while the inattentive opposition tried to retrieve the ball to put the runner out.

Everyone knows baseball. Everyone knows the basic rules of baseball.

Don't count on it.

Cam was at bat. A big strong kid, he slammed the big ball into the field past the fielders who were drawing pictures in the dirt. The coaches of the fielding team shouted at a fielder to get the ball.

Cam raced to first base, because he knew the rules. Half way to being safe at first, Cam stopped and turned around. He was running back to home plate. That's not in the rules.

"Cam, what are you doing?" shouted his puzzled coach.

Cam shouted back "I forgot my glove."
