A 55-Word Story about domestic violence from one familiar with that dance.
It’s Over!

He yelled. He hit. He swore.

She cowered in fear. She cried. She left.

He cried. He promised change. He begged.

She came home.

He yelled. He hit. He swore.

She cowered in fear. She cried. She left.

He cried. He promised change. He begged.

She came home.

He yelled. He hit. He . . .

She left.

The above 55 word story is based on my personal experience. Some folks have commented that it is too repetitive. The truth is that the dance of domestic violence is repetitive. The couple goes through the cycle of violence over and over. I thank God that with His help, I was able to stop the dance in my own life. It was not easy.

The woman in the above story ended the cycle as well. That's why I ended this story with her leaving.

It took me a lot more than three times.
