shortcomings
and disappointments
who can say they regret where they are now?
in overcoming lifes obstacles
it makes you enjoy what you are today

if it wasnt for these
difficult decisions in life today
can you really say
you will have grown up tommorrow?

can anyone truly say
that they have never gone through loss or misery?
its these key things that help us grow
into the world that we like to call home

dont you hide
when theres thunder and lightning outside
just imagine the rain
as it touches your skin
just let it sink in and see

the moisture in the air
its a lot like a smile
just hidden all around
but when you put it together
youll know what life is all about

and when the sun
comes out of its hiding place
and the clouds in the air move away
a breeze rolls in to let you know
the rain has come and its now gone away
but dont worry my dear you have nothing to fear
itl be back again
and this time its got a friend

how are you today?
i see you havent changed much since the last time we encountered
i see a tear on your face
so why not mine?
o mirror other how are we alike?
behind you i see buildings accompany the skylight
i turn around and i see nothing quite so bright

all of the city sleeps with dreams in there head
i lay down and see nothing but your face
i lok up and there you are again
who are you?

you look just like me
but were nothing alike
how can i see
when your expression doesnt match mine?
i can only see pain and sorrow in your eyes
and then i turn around
and realize that those emotions are mine
