Seizures, 100% life support, six times in 10 years!
Coma, drug induced
Angels of ICU there to save her
Can they, will they

There she lies, still, no feeling
Tubes, machines doing all
I hold her hand, stroke her hair

Fighting my panic, fear, pain, tears
Gushing, rushing, emotional wave
Surging physical force tearing me apart.

Close my eyes, deny this reality
Not daring to leave her,  nor breathe
Can sheer will keep her alive

Demanding , machines work, work
I smother my weariness
Vacantly staring around the ICU

My baby, I need you!
I Love You!
Come back to Daddy!

And God heard
And God answered!
And I held her close again

And I heard her mumbled words!
And the spark of life returns
And my soul steamed relief

How did we do  it
Six times over the years
Living in ICU, Death so near
as and prayer

But we are so wonderfully lucky
It is so easy, so very easy you see!
She Is Alive!  We hold her, talk to her

Not with flowers over her grave, No!
Each day we can embrace her, talk, laugh and cry!
She Is still Alive!  She is HERE!
