Digging through the snow for clovers.
It is St. Paddy’s Day again,
But we can’t seem to find clovers
Under a blanket of snow.

I remember back when
We embraced here as lovers,
Today we would freeze I know.

We look and look in vain
But the white gently covers,
And winds began to blow.

Long winter is our bane,
And one soon discovers,
Frozen clovers won’t grow.

My love and I gave up looking for Irish gold,
But found the sharing of love warms tenfold.
