A sensual excavation. Short poem.
WOMB & LOAM

The dark cavern, since forcing me into the world barren
I have found another niche
Between the clefts of a mountain sweet
Here in night I labor to return
In warm wet, in sweat
In the scent of the soil we all were once rooted
I beg it to pry and remember
Though it never knew
Because similar, is not the same
Even so, I will forge
Familiar terrain
And unearth a crevice I can call home
Hollowing softened loam
With tools of tease and tempt
It will give way to room
Me, nestled safe
Until my final womb
The grave
