How depression transforms the spirit
Darkness breeds seduction to the tortured soul
Life is better viewed as a silhouette of its true terrifying shape
Viewed in entirity the mind gives way to rage and control
Warping and strangling, it binds without hope of escape

Dreams of old bend and become the pyschotic lip and fist
What was once a pool of pureness is twisted with the taint
Hopes and aspirations turn to a lust for murder and mist
Gnarled and rotten is the love which felt so quaint

And plauged I am by the demonic sprite of indulgence and greed
Its reign upon a once fruitful and full path, relentless and decaying
Wrestles a hand of care and love to commit the most malevolent deed
In a fit of pain with a goblet raised, I wonder is it wrong that I am staying
