A poem attempting to visualise how thoughts traverse the mind of the writer.
Words

The words come and the words go
Swiftly and smoothly,
Passing through the echo chamber
Like the misty image of a distant past
Indiscernible yet unmistakable
Like a prophesy yet unfulfilled
Whispering uncertain destinies,
Holding time to ransom
Searching for anything,
Hoping for something,
Promising nothing,
Desperate for shape and form,
Smothered by light and dark,
Tarrying for a moment then fleeting
Flirting with images, shapes and sounds
Waxing, waning like dusk and dawn
Humming harmonious, sweet melodies,
Chanting ancient incantations,
Conjuring fantasy and fear,
Daring to dream,
Teasing fate with temptation
The words drift,
Like the sombre slither of silent clouds
Ushered by a gentle wind,
Pregnant with anger, pain, peace and love
Drunk with the Brownian rhythm of life
Bursting forth in gallant bravado,
Subserviently submitting to thoughtful confines
The words come,
Inspired by everything and nothing
Written in stone by the hand of God
Etched in hearts by the voice of God
Blinding the ears of men
Like thunder and lightening
Exposing Trojan truths
Daring perception beyond it boundaries
Fixing, mending, bowing, breaking
the words come and the words go…
