A song/poem I wrote...from the Tin Man's Perspectives
Life here after you’ve gone isn’t quite the same

Though normal’s not our regular chosen cause

You just had to get to the homestead back in Kansas

But do you ever miss the crazy streets of Oz?

Thanks to you we’ve all changed the way we see things

And with the witches gone, bad times are so few

Nikkon rarely flies around with all his buddies

There’s indolence in monkey see and monkey do

I guess you’re back there growing up in Kansas

I hope you’re not just back there growing old

Do you ever dream of living life in color

Did you ever even know I loved you so?

I don’t really even see the lion all that much anymore

He runs around chasing down his fears

I think he found love out there on the prowl

A little courage helps a lot in shifting gears

The Scarecrow he just keeps on a whiling

The hours they go by like drops of rain

For him his whole day really consists of talking

Seems like thinking’s just one function of the brain

I guess you’re out there growing up in Kansas

I hope you’re not just out there growing old

Do you ever dream of skipping on that yellow brick

Could you tell I didn’t want you to go

As for me I just spend my days working

Chipping timber for the wizard in the woods

I’m not the kind to disregard my obligations

But this heart of mine sure wishes that I could

I dream of slippers custom made for a tin man

Ruby red with steel toes to fit the toil

This new heart you helped me find displays devotion

The rest of me just needs a little oil

I guess there’s still something worth holding onto back in Kansas

I hope you’re not afraid of letting go

Do you ever watch the skyline for tornadoes?

I know I’d sure like to see that old wind blow

You know the munchkins have never been so happy

The lollipops have taken to chasin’ round the league

It seems like love is in the air for just about everybody

I wish there was a storm for you and me
