A work in progress about my first (sort of) date with my husband. Feedback welcome.
An early November morning,
Maybe two or three o'clock
Under a blanket of stars
The air so cold you can see your breath
You and I lay side by side
Staring up at the majestic night sky
As hundreds of the distant lights
Blaze across the darkness.

As we lay there in the stillness of the night
I hear you breath
I feel the warmth of your hands around mine
protecting them from the chill in the air.

I didn't know then what I know now.
I had no idea my life would never be the same.
I didn't see on that frosty November morn
What you saw so clearly.

I knew only contentment and peace,
And I didn't have to work at it,
I just felt it.
