Oh! how far man has come
Father time through all the ages

Seeking what is spoken amongst mages

Searching for some truth along the pages

Only to end in the solitude of cages

Yet forever he's seen and forever he's been

so he constructed himself his own discipline

to keep all his old demons out from within

they call it the Red Book, only he knows how it begins

It speaks of a phoenix, and burning revelations

and how it holds the key to all his generations

every year he pays it a visit, with great expectations

he always returns with a new destination

He calls the phoenix love, who calls the book life

Impressed with the divine, he named it his wife

Every sip of her wine takes him further from lies

yet he can only understand "life" with sober eyes

Now we watch to see how father time grows

into a brand new baby that already knows

when he is witnessed under the phoenix's nose

they were quickly in flames and then they would explode

Only to return with the good from the old

the phoenix hands the new lad a book of stories previously told

the lad looks up in amazement at the phoenix who is bold

and the phoenix said "I call it the red book, within is beauty to behold"
