There are some who are prisoners of their own biased, ’free’ beliefs.
FREE THINKERS: a sonnet

When invited for a verbal duel
By those who are biased, whose thinking is warped,
Shall I, to the fire, add further fuel,
Repeating that on which, in past, I harped?

Why show light to those who so love the dark?
Why spread knowledge where ignorance is bliss?
Who can build a bridge when the gap is stark?
For the biased, all efforts are amiss.

Why waste your time straightening the dog’s tail?
Why not let it be happy with its curve?
Fiddling with it will bark and bite entail.
Why lose your peace of mind and, well, your nerve?

Some people simply believe what they think.
These ‘free thinkers’ can’t be helped by a shrink.
