Second poem I ever wrote, and a true story
Kiana Rose

Your beautiful face
Your little hands
So innocent and sweet,
If only, you still had breath.

So happy and content
You slept through the night
Not a sound did you stir
If only, you cried.

You slept with me
Like an angel
On borrowed time
If only, I knew.

One moment it took
For your breath to stop
A mother should know
If only, I had not failed.

An old soul, I was told
The reason
I could not fathom
My fault was to blame.

My soul torn in two
My heart stopped
Your little face blue
Only a second in time.

I screamed for help
And they came
But not one could mend
Our world shattered apart.

But let me tell you
No matter how long
An eternity of time
I will never stop loving you
My little angel, Kiana Rose.
