on losing my sister...

Remember when we laughed all day,
the beach was full of sun,
the warmth upon our faces,
when all we knew was fun.

Remember when we lived the moments
and life was void of fear,
We danced a tune of freedom,
that only we could hear.

Remember when we traveled abroad
when limits didn't exist,
A fresh new adventure awaited us
with ignorance and bliss.

Remember when you moved away
yet somehow we survived,
A phone call kept us busy
and let us feel revived.

Remember when your thoughts turned gray,
yet subtle it seemed at first,
a sadness in your eyes appeared
for a never ending thirst.

Remember when we discovered you,
your secrets could hide no more,
the world grew dark and dim that day
as your richness turned to poor.

Remember when we shouted,
but in the end I cried,
because I could not help you
and eventually... you died.
