Darker Than Black by T. J. Shemaly
Yes, I thought I would escape
from the mangling fangs of destiny
One time up, then two to down
reckon, O one o' dexterity

The hues in front of me were
many, and so many are they
Abundant yet scarce in soul
just like a rainbow in a dry day

The passage of stages afore
to this life inside the heart
Made but a fuss out of it
and the heart is out of heart

Rainbow is not what I seek
nor happiness or glory in fame
Nor I do seek the salvation
but an identity for a name

Here I am, waiting or to be
Colors of heaven in a plaque
Until then the eye will only see
in a manner, darker than black
