Dreidre by T. J. Shemaly
Like a flower in the breeze of spring
or like a sweet dropp of rain in winter
She walks in tiny steps here and there
and her voice becomes like a whisper
A baby so mature amid the world of adults
and my sweet name is announced, Dreidre

Play the music box again and again
forget this world and what it carries
The world just lies in this little face
and what is the world and its agonies
Celebrate and sing, love and wink
forget the life that is and its macabre

Long, along the path of truth do walk
and beside the innocence of the soul
Give the smile even though with pain
and cry for happiness when it's over all
But where is my speech and where am I
and where to find me beloved, Dreidre
