God knows what we need more than we.
This you ask of me my God

Though my lips long for his world of passion
Though my heart longs to hear his voice
Though my memory often travels the lines of his smile
You ask of me to sit queitly and wait

Though I ache for his touch, to be tightly enfolded
Though I can not count the times he comes to mind
Though I am tortured by the agony of losing him
You ask of me to sit quietly and trust you

Though I wish to move on
to be released from this jail of wanting what is no longer mine
Though I search the face of a newcomer in hope of forgetting
Though I want the past and hope in the future
You ask of me to sit quietly and know that it is in your hands

Though my heart is broken and I do not understand
Though I find it difficult to want to carry on
Though I find aloneness a hollow canyon of echoed memory
You ask of me to sit quietly and know that you are God

Though I want
Though I am restless
Though I am alone
You ask of me to sit quietly and know that in your time you will fullfill all that I need

You are my God
