A dream, poetry - a motal's quest to find the answers of life.
A Mortal’s Peace
By
Richard Vance

I roll around the air…
It’s almost real!
I think, I know, I see…
Ideas and answers for preponderances past,
Float by within an easy reach –
Right there to grab.
And all at once I know what seemed so hard to comprehend,
So obvious, so true…
Epiphanies so stark, so bright,
Alive and fresh…
Enlightened minds above the human realm,
Just let me in.
I have it now!
A precious everlasting gift,
To share with friend and foe alike…
But oh, it seems, with lifted veil,
The clearing smoke and mist,
And coming back from who knows where –
From deepened sleep?
It all evaporates, a wall once more;
To dash a perfect plan -
The lot of man, I guess.
To wake!
For, here and there we get a glimpse
Of heaven’s guarded gate,
But in the end,
To only live to find a mortal’s peace…
And seek a non-existent truth.
