Crashing on the cloudy shore are waves of honey, golden and weightless.
I swim in the lake
that is filled with light.
Crashing on the cloudy shore
are waves of honey,
golden and weightless.
I live in the depths
where the liquid light
is brightest of all, stinging
only man’s eyes,
maybe blinding them
if they fall into its yellow-gold depths.
My scales are like plates of shiny
metal, and gills help me breath in the light,
feeding me happiness and illumination.
To feel the radiance surge through my veins
is magical, and makes it even easier
to float through the feathery light.
Smells like a hot summer day,
a treat to the eye,
but do not get to close,
it swallows man in its depths,
encircling him is a brightness
that is almost painful.
Then, if you survive its angry, golden clutches,
it lets him fall with a crash
to the dark earth.
