I am glad to have you as a friend to this old man.

Young Friend

You helped an old man and been a friend.
You have been near to lend me your ear.
Told you of the past how things did not last.
When years pass by it'll changes you and I.

What I once could do I now ask it of you.
Watch you do things I do in my dreams.
Gets harder each day do things my way.
Have you do things helps lessen my pain.

I'm listening to you talk about what you do.
You play games on TV and play with ease.
Before the television I played real games.
With my toy truck or riding on my bicycle.

Wasn't any computers when I was a boy.
We played games with our imagination.
Drawing or coloring was a favorite game.
With our game cards, like the Old Maid.

All these games made me use my mind.
To make me think more about the times.
I was in good health because I was active.
Jumping and running kept me well in fact.
