A village farmer imbibes wisdom and sixth sense from nature.
THE VILLAGE FARMER

Village farmers are often
Wiser than urbanites.
What lies beneath their wisdom,
A few comments invites.

City dwellers often think
He is hocus pocus.
They think civilisation’s
He somehow missed the bus.

But the rustic farmer is
More close to the nature.
He seems to have a sixth sense,
Adding to his stature.

He can tell when it will rain
And when it will be fog.
With a distant look he can
Tell a toad from a frog.

He can surely tell which crop
Will grow in a season.
He may seem obstinate but,
Often, he has reason.

He has gained experience
At the nature’s own school,
Without which a learned man
Is rather like a fool.
