My own personal fairytale...
Underneath this veil of darkness I lie,
unable to stir myself from my stupor.
I remain for hours upon hours,
never moving, ever dreaming
of white knights riding huge black stallions
adorned with long flowing manes.
Of tall cylindrical towers with turrets,
imprisoned girls with long golden hair.
Of fairies that flit between the soft clouds
granting wishes to lonely children.
Yet nightmares invade my mind,
forcing their way into my happiness
crushing it until it ceases.
Of monsters living within the depths of the
world unknown to mankind.
Creatures feasting on the galloping horses
of the courageous knights.
Beasts lurking in the moats around
towers that imprison the terrified maidens.
Of traps and snares that capture the fairies,
slowly crushing their small fragile bodies.
As I lie shrouded under this eternal gloom,
forever losing hope of being saved
by my handsome prince charming,
I lose all consciousness
as my mind slips away.
