Domestic Violence in this country is a true concern, this poem is for the woman and child
Before dawn, Daddy will be home

It's Christmas night,
And the children enjoy the lights.
The mark on her face is red,
She'll tend to it after the kids are in bed.
Her arm is still hurting,
And her eyes won't stop burning.
What once felt like paradise,
Is hell coming out of disguise.
As she looks at the faces,
Of these babies that she's raised;
Her heart breaks in two,
How does she explain the abuse.
She lets them sleep now...the horror is gone,
But she knows..Before dawn daddy will be home.

My heart goes out to every woman who has lived in abuse,
And for the children that witnessed it too.

Jeffrey A. Evans,Sr

To any woman that has been abused
